Advertisement has the same role in every field of business as a food supplement has for body. It is one of the biggest factor which could lead a blog to next level. If you are ignoring advertisement on your own blog, you are ignoring huge income which other bloggers especially popular bloggers have. To attract quality advertisers, there are some key points that need to be considered so that you could attract advertisers to advertise on your blog and ultimately have an earning hand too.
What Advertiser look when they intend to Advertise?
There are various key points which advertisers look forward including Search traffic, daily pages views, unique visitors, social sharing, alexa ranking and social activities. There are some key points to be considered.
Daily Unique Visitors:
The most defining moment for advertisers to advertise on your blog is when you started getting large amount of hits to your blog. he maximum number of hits/visitors your blog would have, more would be the chances that you get caught by advertisers. Most of the bloggers/SEOs say that ‘Content is the king’. What they forget to mention that it’s not only the content but ‘Great Content’ is the key.
Gone are the days when Search Engines weren’t fast and spun content used to have great value too. Although spun article still have some value but it’s always good to have original content.
Better user Interaction :
Another factor that attracts advertisers is user engagement and readership. If you have a blog having great content in it and you have a stable readership that remains thirsty for your next article to come, you are the person advertisers look forward.
Post engagement that could compel readers to stay on your site, visit and explore other areas of your blog. There are high chances that any ad that will be placed, would have a high CTR either it’s an adsense ad or third party private advertisement.
Tips to Attract Quality Advertisers:
Increase Organic Traffic:
There are two types of traffic.
- Earned Traffic
- Paid Traffic
Earned traffic is something that I would refer to Organic Traffic. Among various traffic sources, Search Engine traffic is the most trust worthy, acknowledgeable, safe, high quality and main stream traffic. Although there are other traffic sources too which includes facebook, bots and referral but in my personal recommendation SE traffic is something you should always go for. If you are having adsense on your blog, generating leads or affiliates or targeting advertisers, Search Engine traffic has the huge impact.
If you have established Search Engine traffic, advertisers are going to stand by your blog and ofcourse it’s not the final but a step to your financial freedom.
Approach Companies Directly:
Once you started getting lots of traffic to your blog on a particular niche, try looking for other companies that deals in products of your niche.
For example if you have a blog on ‘fashion designing’, you may contact fashion designers out there in your area or search other fashion designers on internet and make them realize how advertisement on your blog generate sales/leads for them. Make them realize that they are lacking too much by not displaying their ad on your blog.
Once they agree to advertise, charge a nominal fee for the first time and let them realize the market potential. Hopefully from next month, you could be able to charge them as per your demand.
Signup Blog Advertisement Platforms:
Once your blog hit to a certain traffic milestone, you may signup for blog advertisement networks to sell your blog space. Here are some of the networks that are used commonly in blogspehere.
Google Adsense is one the most trusted and widely used advertisement to generate revenue. Signup to Google Adsense platform and put ads on your blog.
Buysellads is another famous advertisement platform which is more like a publisher-advertiser platform. Signup to this platform and get listed in advertisement directory. You must keep in mind that these sort of advertisement networks, advertisers choose from hundreds/thousands of listings to advertise based on their budget and niche. If you have a quality traffic and proper niche selected for your blog, advertisers will be waiting for you.
Setup ‘Advertise here’ page:
Upon analyzing you would see most of the blogs have a page ‘Advertise here’. It’s really a nice gesture that could realize advertisers that they can have business with your blog. Provide a proper statistics on this page, make bullet points and state following notes.
- Alexa Ranking
- Daily hits/day
- Blog Niche and what sort of advertisement you would prefer
- Blog PR
Place Sample Ads with ‘Advertise Here’ text:
Place sample ads on your blog sidebar, header and even in footer. Normally using buysellads you see such ads displayed on your blog. Link those sample ads with your ‘Contact Us’ page and decide your ads rates based on demographic and impressions.
The bottom line of the whole post is how you can have extra income by putting ads on your blog. Making money from your own blog is not a matter of just few clicks, receiving ads and banking money but it involves research as which areas are converting best for advertisement. There is no hard and fast rule to advertise in a certain manner but testing.
Keep testing to find what works for you even your audience may resist the presence of ads. If you are employing too much ads to expect ROI (Return on Investment), there are chances that your audience gets irritated and ultimately you could end up losing your revenue and clients as well.
Testing is the key to find what is suitable for your blog. Once you discovered best practices that work best for your blog/site, scale it to get maximum revenue. You may then place affiliate offers, leads, CPA and other stuff. Once you get to know best practice, sky is the limit.
